JOBS

We want to work with you!

We’re looking for applicants who love vegetable farming as much as we do.

Our ideal applicant has stamina in spades, learns quickly, and has excellent people skills (a plus if you’re working one of our market stands!). Priority is given to candidates with at least 1 year of vegetable growing experience or other outdoor work experience in a fast-paced environment. (Enthusiasm, passion, can-do spirit, and the proven ability to tough-it-out can be substituted for that experience.)

Those who remain with the farm past the first season will have increased roles in management and planning with pay raises based on demonstrated ability. Past crew have gone on to be assistant farm managers, farm managers, small business owners, and farm business owners, or remain as important members of our managing team.

Working at Chickadee Creek Farm

Now interviewing for 2026

Full-time staff is expected to work approximately 45 hours per week (five days), which may include one day at a Farmers’ Market.

During the spring (April-June) we work from 8am-5pm. In the summer months (July-September), we work from 7am-4pm, then back to 8am-5pm in the Fall (Oct-Nov). Most tasks are difficult to end right at 4pm, but we do an exceptional job at tracking very close to that.

There is a dependable flow to our work weeks, with the same sorts of tasks happening on the same days week to week. Tasks will include (but are not limited to!) weeding, harvesting, crop care (think trellising, pruning, and thinning), transplanting, and washing and packing vegetables.

Farmers Market staff has a lot of responsibility- loading the truck, driving to market, setting up the stand, managing their helpers' schedules, and managing veggie inventory for their market. Farmers market sales are the bread and butter of our business, and those positions are more highly compensated.
